We are in the middle of a three-day severe weather event across the Kansas region. Early this morning, severe weather was ongoing in northwest Kansas with storms producing quarter-sized hail and 70 mph winds. In south-central Kansas, an area of rain and embedded thunderstorms continue to move to the northeast into the Flint Hills. Significant severe weather episode begins Saturday

Good evening! The severe weather doldrums many in the plains have been experiencing, will come to an abrupt end on Saturday. For the rest of tonight, Gulf of Mexico moisture will continue to stream into the area. The graphic above indicates that dewpoints in central and southeast Oklahoma are in the 70's and that moisture is forecast to continue moving north.
